Just finished watching the Women’s Finals at the U.S. Open with Maria Sharapova smushing Justine Henin-Hardenne. So much talk about her dress. I thought it was spectacular. The sequins a bit much but stunning. The dress is worth $20 million in murmuring to Nike as a result of the win and running commentary. Just the other day I was at lunch with our architect, a brilliant female tennis player herself, and my wife. The two ladies, just love Henin-Hardenne because she is all business, and who I don’t particularly like because she’s such a whiner and a cry-baby. And I stated blithely that I loved Maria Sharapova…so stunning looking, so statuesque, so with it. And now, this win. My wife and our architect just rolled their eyes when I said the name Sharapova. I have my fingers behind my ears flapping wildly now. Heeheehee. See, who says you can’t have it all — great looks, great skills, great dress and a big bank account. Thank goodness Justine didn’t burst into tears and cover her face with a sweaty towel.

Well will be the first to ask the obvious question: where’s the pic?? she’s definitely a babe.
I give her a 10.
I concur. Maria
looks smashing in that “little black dress”. And I thought that outfit was just for cocktails, not for a tennis match.
I was so glad she socked it to Justine.
she’s worth every penny her endorsers give her!!
after the match? she disappears to bring out her gold razor motorola, and put on a watch. :)
the dress was interesting. didn’t wow me though. much prefer the nike red-black apparel that Blake and Nadal were sporting
i wasn’t particularly interested in the women’s finals but i was rooting more for henin (she has fantastic form). i have to admit sharapova showed she was in better form today. oh well. not too happy about all the sponsors creeping slowly into all visible TV space, though.
Sports Illustrated SwimSuit 2006 supplies the sultry pix.
wow, seems most of the comments are from the guys! haha! What about the ladies? Sharapova is definitely a looker as most Russian women are. My Italian friend who is a trainor was stunned when he walked in the training room to find a roomful of Russian women…all beautiful he said. Lucky guy!
she’s a hard worker and deserved the victory, i like her gritty, never die attitude. i don’t particularly like her shrieks but like you, i stopped being a fan of Justine (used to like her) because she’s such a whiner and she ‘robbed’ Mauresmo of a real victory in Australia. Thank God that was justified in Wimbledon!
Sharapova’s dress fits the NY atmosphere, imo, and she looks much better on her Nike clothes than Serena, that’s for sure. ;)
Sweet begeebus, i can’t/and don’t want to even imagine how would Serena Williams would look like on that nike dress…
She did look great but such a turn off that she’s become so American. The Fed was just amazing – is he human?
Robot, I heard. Heehee.
picture pls marketman
Yeah, Sharapova looks like a supermodel & ace tennis player rolled into one. Although I think she overdid her look a bit. Shouldn’t have worn the dangling earrings & necklace anymore since her dress was already glittering… a simple stud earring would have made her look more elegant.
