My absolute favorite purveyor of organic vegetables, Gil Carandang and partners at Herbana Farms, have a terrific sounding event on 9 May 2010 (Sunday). The farm is located in Calamba City, Laguna. It’s a harvest festival where you can take a guided tour of the organic farm, watch a cooking demonstration with Chef Sau del Rosario, enjoy an organic lunch buffet, attend a gardening lecture given by Gil Carandang, etc. Total price for the full package is PHP750. Or you can do only parts of it for less.
I quote from their event brochure: “Herbana Farms produces organic veggies, root crops, herbs, fruits, free range chicken and more in an environment that is unique and one of a kind.”
To find out more about this event, please call or text Monina at 09216647027 or Gil at 09292698602 or email gil_carandang@yahoo.com or checkout their website at www.herbanafarm.com. I am not sure how many slots they have, but reserve early to be sure. A great activity to have older kids participate in as well. And will all the toxic venom being spewed on the cusp of the Presidential elections scheduled for May 10, you can rest assured the veggies you harvest at Herbana will be pesticide free and totally organic! If not for a very important previous appointment Mrs. MM and I have for that day, I would have loved to attend this event. Instead, maybe I will try to visit the farm a few days earlier…

Good luck Gil!
I like! Hope I can convince hubby to go! thanks for sharing MM
There is nothing about it on their site (!) so am emailing them right now.
I am arriving Manila on the 6th and will be travelling to Quezon Province after; (will pass by Laguna). Is the farm open any day before this event? like on May 8th? I would love to buy some chickens to take with me, and of course some veggies.
