I just couldn’t resist. We left Greece this morning and at the Athens airport, they had free internet kiosks so I logged onto marketmanila.com and realized that today’s post was on the turkey attacks on Malapascua island. Talk about timing… we were boarding a plane for Turkey in just a few minutes, but I managed to take this photo and leave marketmanila.com on the computer screen for other travelers to see! :) So hello all from Istanbul!!! :)

Have a lovely time there with your family!
Are you staying at the Ciragan Palace Hotel or next door at the Four Seasons Resort (not to be confused by the ohter Four Seasons hotel)?
Mangaranon, would have loved to stay at either, but with the Four Seasons at the old prison building at $1,100 for the cheapest room, we opted for more reasonably priced digs…. :) Will do a post on hotels when I do the trip posts…
nice one…

Hello, MM!
While in Turkey, don’t forget to visit the carpet/rug factories if you can. I was there in 1998 and purchased two handmade pure silk rugs and one rug that has combination of silk and wool.I hang on my walls at home using curtain rods. Beautiful silk rugs! Very interesting how they make the rugs. They said it takes them many months and some even years just to finish one rug.
Grand Bazaar, Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque are some places you can visit while in Turkey.
