Let the Games Begin… The “Sinigang Mini-Contest”!!! :)

Up for grabs for this “mini-contest” are two marketmanila shirts, size Men’s LARGE to be given to two winners randomly selected by the Teen from all “correct” answers provided. Please only enter once per reader, use an email address that I can actually contact you at (not a dormant old address), and you must have an address in the Philippines to which LBC or similar courier company can deliver a package to. If you live abroad, you are most welcome to join, but must have a relative or friend’s address in the Philippines to use if you win. The prize is absolutely free, you won’t have to sing, dance or do anything to get it other than answer the question(s) in the contest. Marketman will even shoulder all postage expenses. So yes, Victoria or Procopio, there is such a thing as a completely free lunch, at least on marketmanila.com there is. :)

Over the past 7.5 years, I have written nearly two dozen different posts on my favorite type of soup… sinigang. Essentially a simple sour broth with either fish or meat protein and whatever vegetables are plentiful in the backyard, it is an incredibly satisfying, versatile, and flexible concoction. Sinigangs can be soured with tart leaves, kamias, green mangoes, green sineguelas, unripe or ripe guavas, tamarind, batuan, santol, etc. While packaged tamarind broths seem to be overtaking the natural souring agents (by some surveys nearly 80% of Filipinos use powdered sinigang mix, an absolute TRAVESTY, in my opinion), making sinigang from scratch often yields a far more satisfying bowl of soup, in my personal opinion…

Below is a list of nearly two dozen posts with “Sinigang” in the title of the post, and they span the entire history of the blog, 7.5 years or so. At the BOTTOM of one of the posts, I have imbedded the contest question(s)…. All you have to do is find that question(s), and leave your answer(s) in the comment section below. This is a particularly easy contest as all you have to do is click the links to previous posts, and search for that question, which will be in bold letters. GOOD LUCK!! :)

This mini-contest will run until 5pm (Manila time), Tuesday, 20 March 2012.
