Good riddance to 2013, it had its EVIL moments… At midnight last night we joined friends on the rooftop of a Makati building and despite the cancellation of the Makati City fireworks, I can tell you that Metro Manila was still ablaze with private firework displays! And I was all for it… so much nicer when it’s someone else’s money going up in smoke! Seriously though, much more than any other year, the exploding gunpowder, the bright and colorful sprays of light and the explosive sounds seemed like something we all needed to scare away the boogie monsters of recent months and to herald a BRIGHT AND HOPEFUL NEW YEAR.
