Happy Halloween 2013…

Sometimes, you just feel the mask. :) This one is from SM (it cost PHP249) and it scared the wits out of at least three people over the past week or so, under the veil of darkness and a lot of black clothing. Evil grin. :)

The pumpkins for this year included three Atlantic Dill’s, displayed on a side table. Yes, they are real pumpkins.

Lot’s of candy for the neighborhood trick or treaters.

And a bowl of foil-wrapped halloween themed chocolates for anyone who drops by and needs a chocolate pick-me-up.

But the biggest “surprise” treat was for Marketman about a week early… I got this goody box from Royce chocolates as a thank you for being a guest panelist at the annual San Miguel Corproation (SMC) Communications Conference held at the Shangrila Hotel last week. Thanks for the unexpected early Halloween goody box! :)

  1. Salivating (eew) over that Royce black chocolate! As for the pumpkins, they’re quite expensive here aren’t they, so we haven’t had the chance to decorate with them. :)

  2. My 5 year old daughter(dressed as Minnie Mouse) went trick or treating in the village this afternoon and mentioned something about a person in a scary mask giving out candies. When I saw your post I showed it to her and she said it was the same mask :)

  3. Hi MM,
Just read your rant on Jean posted Halloween 2006 and wanted to let you know I’m with you. Analyzing her comment I can’t believe she’s still living in a place where having adapted to it feels her self worth is insulted all along. What kind of life does she have if she’s not wanted in it to begin with?
To give her credit, I think she meant she was proud that she bowed her head and faced the shame when a Filipino baseball team was disqualified for cheating.
She’s very proud that her language skill in English is better than her Pilipino and yet despises Filipinos for not speaking Pilipino.
I think she’s suffering from some kind of disease KSP syndrome! or worse!
For Europeans who DETEST Americans, I say to them…’F… you..ungrateful bastards..!! and to Jean…’buy your own freaking island!’

  4. The i-scream from 2011 is still the best idea you’ve had for halloween.
Royce chocolate potato chips….. yes please!

  5. Hi MM, If you dont mind, could you tell us the artist of the painting on the second photo?

  6. knifenut, it’s a Fernando Modesto. He is a friend from our Jakarta days. Many of the large bright abstract paintings in our living room that have come out in the background of photos on this blog are by Modesto.

  7. As always, you put in so much fun and excitement in all that you do. The kids in the neighborhood and the kids of your crew are so lucky to be able to go trick or treating with you. Happy Halloween! :)
