  1. Joel, as soon as I heard about Tony’s passing, I was shocked and can’t belive the news. Then I thought of you and how you must be feeling at that very moment. Anthony Bourdain touched all of us through his books and shows. My unhappiness in his demise is that he would not see nor hear anymore how important and how loved he was as a human being, aside from his celebrity persona. Rest in peace, Anthony Bourdain, and thank you so much for your love of Filipinos, our caring attitude, and our food…

  2. I miss him so bad, I will be in mourning for a very long time… I have been making his version of beef bourguignon for many years now and it is always a hit and a favorite among guests, and a personal favorite of my hubby. I have not visited the Philippines since I left in 2011, but brought me back home when he did his show with you. He will be in my heart forever…

  3. Beautifully written piece, Joel. Authenticity is hard to come by nowadays, and I appreciate that so much in both of you.

  4. MM, thanks for these posts. I hope you don’t mind if I share them. I fondly remember the giddy anticipation I felt waiting for The Event.

  5. Natie, not at all, share all you want. :) Thanks Rocky, that’s very kind of you. Amy, funny how someone we don’t really know well affects our psyches so much, no? Carol, thanks…
