Believe it or not, no one has nailed the cost of the three arrangements I put up in the post the other day, but some folks are close. Before I announce the winner of that post, here’s ANOTHER chance for two more bottles of Sister’s jam/marmalade.
On the same trip to Dimasalang, I got these three selloum leaves that are incredibly beautiful AND ECONOMICAL. They last a long time, have a sculptural quality and add life to an otherwise dead corner of the living area.
They have a mind of their own, and curl funnily in some cases, so you have to coax them to a shape that works with your vase and resting place. These three leaves cost me a total of PHP75. Yes, that’s not a typo, they were PHP25 or roughly U.S. 60 cents each! If that isn’t a hint for you to go back to the previous jam contest post and try your luck again, with a new email address or have a friend join for you… :)
So here’s how this works. All you have to do is look through the flower posts from 2006-2009 and find two posts that you like a lot. Just leave me a comment below, with the two posts from the archives (e.g. xxxx post from Jan 2008 and xxxx post from Nov 2007) and I will do a random number generator to pick the winner from all the of the comments submitted. Simple, right? And if you are in a betting mood, the contest for a trip for a domestic trip for two to Cebu on the Zubuchon.com website currently only has approximately 70 entries, so each player has a 1 in 70 chance to win two plane tickets, hotel accommodations and meals at Zubuchon. That’s a pretty darned good set of odds! So join that now or forward the contest to friends or family who might want to join it!

Talakitok on the Grill January 2006 and Spectacular French Tulips / Suggestions for Wedding Flowers August 2009
I think the registration insists on a photo for it to register so am not sure if this is causing people to skip joining. I found myself not being able to submit a photo as i was using a laptop without my photo in it.
Two posts: Tomatoes and roses from DowntoEarth, on 6 July 2014 and Happy Mother’s Day on May 12, 2013.
I don’t think I got a confirmation either after registration to zubufly. So does that mean I am not registered? Contest only allows one entry and several entries automatically disqualifies you so am at a loss. This may also be the cause of the low turn out. Am sure ‘millions’ have registered to have a shot at the Best Pig Ever.
Manny, you just have to check the gallery to see if your registration is there… :)

Big fan here from Nueva Ecija. Only that…. I was just able to muster the courage to comment, well, a few minutes ago.

Squash Flowers, Two Ways – July 2008 :)
loving Bougainvilla from 24 Feb. 2006 because i simply adore them and Squash Flowers.. two ways from 6 July 2008, as i remember my father in law putting these bunch of beauties on the breakfast table (fresh from his garden) for Mama E.
My favorite posts are still the first one I read (24 October 2008) that I found after googling Ube Puto and the post on making a sofrito for paella (8 June 2008). Still use the sofrito recipe..have some in my freezer in bags!
